Chrissy Corbitt had given birth four times before her most recent pregnancy, so she thought she was totally prepared for whatever would happen in the delivery room this go around. She wasn't at all ready for her baby to weigh in at a whopping 13 pounds 5 ounces.

"When the doctor was pulling her out of me, I just start hearing them all laughing and excited in the operating room," Chrissy told ABC News. "They were throwing out numbers and when they showed her to me and said 13.5 I couldn't believe it."

Baby Carleigh Corbitt was born — two weeks early! — on May 15. Chrissy, who had a C-section, had no idea what her baby's size would be.

"It was so funny because she had a C-section so all the blankets were over her so you couldn't see what was going on," her husband Larry Corbitt said. "The doctor said, 'Oh my gosh, she's going to be 15 pounds.' I remember the doctor saying, 'I don't think this baby is going to end. Are there two of them?' Her cheeks were so chunky and she was just so fat. She was so gorgeous, of course."

The humor in the delivery room was a nice contrast to the difficulty of the pregnancy. About a year beforehand, the Corbitts had a grease fire in their kitchen, and Chrissy was badly burned. Chrissy also has a history of anemia, according to her husband, and during the actual C-section, she had to have three different blood transfusions.

"My wife is a trooper for everything she's gone through," Larry said.

Thankfully, she and her baby are happy and healthy. At Carleigh's doctor's appointment last week, she weighed 13 pounds 9 ounces.

"She's like a 6-month-old baby," Larry said. "We even contacted Pampers and Huggies to help us out because everything we got to prepare is just out the door. None of it fits. She's in size 3 diapers. The clothes she had on yesterday was a 9-month outfit. She's huge."

Since coming into the world on May 15, Carleigh has become somewhat of a celebrity, with media outlets in her hometown and all over the country writing about her birth.

"I had no idea she was going to be so popular," Chrissy said. "It's been a great experience and I can't wait to look back on this and share it with her to show her she became a celebrity overnight."

As for whether they'd try to top the weight of their newest baby? Chrissy said she'd rather not.

"That's enough for me," Chrissy said. "We're going out with a bang."

Can you blame her?
